Hey…don’t get me wrong — the Seiko 9F quartz movement is so voluptuous, it invokes a primal response from its beauty. And, at +/- 10 seconds/year its performance is astounding!
My sub $100 Speidel railroad watch is my most accurate non-atomic quartz watch. It runs just over +1 second/month under ideal conditions. I researched the brand of movement online (and even spoke to Speidel customer service), but couldn’t get anything more than it’s a Japanese movement; and I don’t want to open the back until the battery fails to avoid scratching it.
I guess my point is…you can still get amazing accuracy from a less-expensive watch. Though I’d savor a Grand Seiko, I just can’t afford one. I’m just super-happy my inexpensive Speidel not only looks great, but gives a Seiko 9F a solid run-for-its-money!

Interesting to see an actual Spiedel watch, I’ve only every known them for the expansion bands!

They have an excellent inventory…and now sell Seiko watches. They are most famous for their scrub watches…aimed at medical professionals.

Yeah, it’s a great watch. One of my favorites.
Got to admit, the hands on that watch look awfully familiar.

True that. It sure makes ‘em easy to read.
