I’d buy straight away if only………

What’s a watch that you would buy straight away if only they changed something (except price, lol)?

For me it’s the Explorer 1 in two tone. If it was just available in the 40mm instead of 36mm I’d snap it up straight away. The Datejust two tone doesn’t quite do it for me but the Explorer 1 is awesome. And they go below retail!

Agreed. I would like it slightly smaller, perhaps a 39.

I’d prefer 40 but would be happy enough with 39

·

Size related also. I’d buy one (not sure which yet) if they were 37-38mm with a decent L2L.

Woah that’s weird. That’s literally the next watch on my list, in steel. I think they’re awesome. I was actually a bit concerned with the thickness though. There’s no dealer in my state and they look a bit chunky in videos, but manageable. Did you notice the thickness? My wrist is 7.5” so I think I’ll be alright with L2L

·

Sinn U50 if they put their sword style dive watch hands instead of the rectangle hands. Their T50 titanium version has the sword hands, but it's not submarine steel anymore and more expensive.

I didn’t find it thick at all. Very nicely proportioned and if I had a 7.5 wrist, I’d already own it 😅

This is it on my 6 and a bit wrist

Thanks for the insight. Sucks that it just wasn’t quite right for you

That looks alright. I reckon you could pull it off

I could.. just about. But it wasn’t 100% comfortable so I left it. Maybe in the future I may revisit. You should definitely try and get hands on!

Yeah I’m gonna try and be disciplined and wait until they get cheaper on the secondary market. I spoke to the boutique on the phone and they said they can discount but can only discuss amounts in store. Which doesn’t help interstate

I’ve been eyeing these since they were announced at watches and wonders. Was so close to buying. May still get in the future.

Easy! Take the date off the Hanhart Pioneer One. Ka-ching! Instant sale. I'd also love the logo to be the original Hanhart logo than the more modern one with '1882' under it, but honestly, just the date would be enough for me to pull out the credit card RIGHT NOW.

(I've covered this in another thread, where I even know of limited editions that fix all my issues. The problem is, they were tiny runs, and largely done some years ago...)

This is on my 7 inch wrist if helpful.

There’s probably a few.

Panerai 372 if they made it 40mm or 42mm.

Oddly the Tag Aquaracer 300 if 40mm and no cyclops.

Omega Seamaster 300 with no HE valve.

Tudor Ranger with applied numerals and indices rather than painted.

I can definitely see myself getting a Seamaster on day, but would definitely like it more without the HE valve

The Sinn 556 A. This is my favourite dial configuration but that date window is terrible. It’s too tiny to be useful. It just looks like a blemish on an otherwise perfect watch.

The worst part is that they offer the 556 without a date but only with a blue or MOP dial with stick markers. All the elements are there but they won’t assemble them in a configuration that I’m interested in.

Image

Dang that must be frustrating! Agree with your comment on the date window. And the placement is weird.

·

Remove the Helium valves from all Omega's plus improve the look of the braclet. Add on the fly to Grand Seiko's (why they cant do this is beyond me. I have walked away from both of these watches because of these issues and i went into the shops specifically to buy them. I forgot about Tudor. I hate the name to me it has connotations of the middle ages (i know im weird) and i HATE the hand sets they put on, i nedd precise hands not huge blobs

·

Rado Captain Cook - or any Rado - because the spinny anchor logo bothers me. I would much prefer it anchored! 😂😂😂

Weird to see the same dials on Bell & Ross watches. Has me wondering whether it’s a generic component.

·

42mm Tudor Pelagos, if it had red (Pelagos) and a roulette date wheel ( oh and less text on the dial 😂)

·

Not so much of an instant buy per say (limited budget woes), but would really consider buying the below.

Sinn 556 with Stick Markers, Black Dial and no date. Closest we got currently is the MOP dial.

IWC Big Pilot no date format in a smaller Mark XX size. Guess we have to call it Medium Pilot?

The Helium escape valve on the Omega Seamaster Professionals and Planet Oceans. To me it just looks like some wart/growth that requires urgent medical attention.

One happy news in recent weeks is the release of the Longines Legend Diver in 39mm and no date. To me that’s the perfect compressor style diver in the more affordable realm.

that’s the best thing about them 😭😂

·

38mm or 39mm will be perfect 🌚

·
Tourbillon1916

You’re probably right. It’s a silly thing to get hung up on. They have a few models I really like.

·

A Tudor black bay in 34 mm.

·

Cw12.

If they just made a black dial version I'd get it in a heartbeat

·

I would get a Rolex Air King if they changed the dial to look like any other dial.

·

Then it would be an Explorer? :-)

·

Tudor snowflake hands. Complete design crime. And the rivets. Okay, I know that's two things.
