SPB143 wrist shot

For me this watch was everything I hoped Seiko would make after owning the SKX007. I love the proportions and the dial the best.

Now if Seiko did this in a deep laquered black (with red text) or even an ocean blue.....👌

The SPB 143/239/147 is the only Seiko I really like. I've come close to buying one a few times now, but the worry about alignment makes me hesitant.

Yeah the alignment issue is definitely there.... But honestly I never really notice it and this one is uncharacteristically thin compared to all of the other Seiko divers haha

Very nice! My favorite Seiko in my collection.

A quintessential diver. 🤌

That model is really attractive, I just wish it was in my "impulse buy" price zone.

If I could walk into an AD and pick one up I'd be far more comfortable buying one, but none of my local ADs seem to carry them, which is weird given that Ottawa is not a small city.

Shoot yeah I would even look at pre-owned too; I wish I did that. They're a little over priced at MSRP

I'm not sure I would even call it overpriced.  I'm sure there are thousands of folks out there who buy $1000 pieces on a whim, but being a teacher, I'm not in that financial place.  Likewise, my $300-$500 impulse buy zone would be out of the question for people in other situations.

Have you looked at the Seiko 5 GMT; totally different watch but it looks pretty sweet

I saw it.  Looks great.  I think it answers some of the concerns people had when the SKX was transformed into the 5KX.   The criticism was that it wasn't ISA certified, no screw in crown, making it not a true dive watch.  Well Seiko seems to have solved that issue by adding complications/functionality and making it something other than a dive watch.

A GMT with 100 meters water resistance is pretty sweet imo.

It looks like you have it on an after-market bracelet...aside from the roller coaster accuracy, the only other issue I have with the watch is its weight on the OEM bracelet. Is the difference noticeable on the aftermarket bracelet?

It’s wayyyyy nicer with the after market bracelet; it honestly looks reminiscent of a 5 digit sub with the aftermarket bracelet.

It’s a bit pricey but I got mine from uncle seiko https://unclestraps.com/collections/62mas/products/oyster-bracelet-spb14x-62mas-reissue

I got mine on Gnomon watches as i couldn’t find any at a Seiko AD here on the west coast.

Easy! Don't buy one with a mi-aligned dial! I have many and they are all perfect. Just have to have a good seller that doesn't mind repeat business.

I've only had one that was off, sent it back and a new perfect one was on my wrist in a week.

Shop the seller!

I really like the clean lines on this one
