Then and now

How much has your watch collection changed throughout the years? Has it changed at all?

For me my collection is a lot smaller and I like bracelets more these days. Back then I wore watches up to 45mm. These days I'm wearing watches 39-42mm.  I tend to lean to all sporty pieces also.

What about you?

Just starting to find my taste. Definitely lean sporty And have moved from under $500 Seiko, Timex, and Casio to over $2500 Swiss. I want to be diverse and nimble rather than a drawer full of quirky pieces.

then: fashion watch, more than 42mm diametre, fossil, quartz

now: more appropriate watch brand, 36-42mm diametre, preferably mechanical, still under 1000$ collection

future: more luxury brand and microbrand hopefully

·

The only way my collection has changed is to go for watches with nice clear dials and mainly white as their easier to read also have to be 40mm or bigger (getting old is a pain )

·

Mercifully I slowed down and started thinking before buying!

·

The only thing that seems to change is the number of watches - linearly increasing year-on-year 😀 I tend towards tool/sports watches more than dress, and (maybe) have bought fewer divers over the last 4 years, and more field/sports watches..

I've only been into watches for a couple of years. But yes definitely going for a small collection.

I like them all but not 100% happy yet. The Citizen doesn't get much use so I'm not even sure I'll keep it.

Maybe swap the Citizen for a better one someday with better lume and digital timers.

The Casio has better features but it's half plastic. And the Citizen is all titanium and better night visibility but the features are very complicated and less useful. So I'm not sure yet.

It is larger, although down from the largest it ever was quantity wise.  Much more targeted now than ever before, and growing very slowly and carefully.

·

Then: Fashion watches, big chunky bracelets and lots of polish, quartz, whole mix of case sizes

Now: A small number of brands, automatic/manual wind, 40mm-42mm case size, still prefer bracelets, quality over quantity

For years something was always in the mail; some didn't stay 24hrs.

I've chilled out considerably and have a much better sense of what I like.

I think I still have about the same #, and they still turn over, just not quite as fast.
