Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

The primary influence in my life was my father. His deep attachment to his 1977 Seiko 5 Ref. 98233 intrigued me throughout my childhood. My father wore it faithfully every single day for nearly 40 years.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

My initial timepiece was a 1987 Seiko 5, a gift from my father during high school.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

Back at home, we have a saying that describes extreme punctuality: "Тачан као докса!" meaning "Punctual as Doxa." As a young boy, I didn't understand what is “Докса” or the connection to the actual watchmaker. Later, I realized that my father's pocket watch, a gift from my grandfather, was a Doxa. I had it converted into a wristwatch, and I still wear it occasionally. The only reason I don't wear it more often is its 47mm diameter. Nonetheless, it's a cool watch with sentimental value.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Slow down. It’s a marathon not a sprint. - I wish someone told me that.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Parmigiani Fleurier and A. Lange & Söhne watches are undeniably impressive, though the price might be a bit steep for what I would like to spend on a watch. Nonetheless, their cool factor is hard to ignore.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar - A true masterpiece. It combines precise timekeeping with a split-second stopwatch feature and a perpetual calendar that automatically accounts for dates, days, and months. The design is classic and elegant, paying homage to traditional pocket watches. Crafted with incredible attention to detail, the watch represents the pinnacle of watchmaking artistry.
