I say fake screws on a $350,000 dress watch.
They are so ugly and stupid and they don't even look functional because it's a hex screw head stuck in a hex hole. ๐
As someone who works with machines this is downright offensive.
By the way I don't hate APs. I think they could be great watches for like $399 with free shipping.
Lol
In comparison - actual screws (or ones that at least look functional) could be fine for a tough work watch.

Watch your back! The grey market goofballs are coming for you! I admit that when I saw my first Royal Oak in 1986 or 89, didnโt warm to the design but it was so different, almost innovative didnโt even look at the screws. You are right about the screws selected but it is obvious only to the trained eye. The mob will hate you!
Inconsistent design language

The mobsters can come after me. I have the protection of the Yakuza! (I'm just assuming but I'm pretty sure that's included when you buy Japanese watches.)
is the screw on the ap fake? lol. i didnt know until now

Japanese most things are special, young man from a wealthy family trims my hair once a month, successful so quickly. I am not referring to the classical mob guy who generally have dollars to become dilettantes away from their work but the throng of people who insist their opinions are more worthwhile than yours.
Oh here we go againโฆ.yawnnnn

The screws are real and functional, the design is just not for everyone.
Get Gents to design it ๐คข๐คฎ
The screws on AP are functional, it's part of three-piece system which holds the bezel, mid-case and case back, very neat and functional design. AP just designed it in a nice way that is aesthetically pleasing on the bezel.

I'm not sure if that's better or worse.
But I don't find fake-looking screw heads to be aesthetically pleasing.
Invicta itโฆ

They are real screws made of a special alloy that each screw was put on at a specific torque so that all the screws line up as a circule on the bezel. This AP Royal Oak case is one of the most complicated case designs (and most expensive to made and assemble) in the watch industry for a sport watch.

Thx for the info. Now i know how they alligned the screw, its from the caseback
Lmao ๐คฃ I can understand your angle and even why you feel that way as someone who works with machines having foe screws just doesnโt make any sense in your world unless you where just trying to trick someone into thinking something is more secure or complicated then it really is.
