New Fortis Stratoliner

What do you think about the new Fortis Stratoliner?

My first impression: Nice design. Fresh and clean. Well done Fortis!

Then I realized that they forgot to put the hour markers on the dial. What were they thinking? “Legibility? Nah, we don’t need it on this watch! Reading the time on a watch is overrated anyway.”

liking it… although I think the pricing is a bit steep for what it is

·

It's pretty expensive for a Fortis and the lack of hour markers makes it look a little bit like a fashion watch, but even with that, for some some reason I still like it, I wouldn't own it, but it offers something fresh in terms of design

·

Yeah, those tiny numerical seconds markers aren't quite distinct enough to serve as standard indices.

I know this is a render, but that dial looks really flat. It's not overdone. I'll give them that. And I do like those lugs.

·

Yeah, it’s a shame. I mean, they have done so many things right with that watch. The dial texture. The color combinations. The engraving on the rehaut. The side profile. Innovative lugs. On the fly adjust bracelet. 200 M water resistance on a chrono. The movement. The shape of the chrono pushers...and then they f’k it up by sacrificing the most important markers on a watch. Why? WHY?

·

A cracker of a watch! Killer design

·

The watch looks amazing, but the end-links of the bracelet screams afterthought, it’s a shame.

·

Love it, not the price

·

Nice enough. Different. But no go for me

I'm not sure what the design term is for this, but it's shouting "just give enough detail and let the wearer figure the rest out", but if they were going down this path, they should have removed more.

·

Interesting design, but I agree overall a bit too close to a fashion watch for me to own.

·

I would pass on this, for basically all the complaints above: legibility, price, end links. Wouldn’t take a whole lot of changes to alter my opinion

·

IMO Fortis really phoned it in with this one. The dial is basically flat white and devoid of detail.  Completely uninspired, boring and unoriginal design to me

·

Bracelet looks so cheap. Hate the lack of endlinks.

Not in my eyes. I think the dial texture is gorgeous!

Somebody needs to send this render to Fortis...

·

So I just discovered this watch, in particular the Blue Japan version. I won't say this thread ruined it for me 😄 (the price point did that), but the lack of hour markers on a supposed high tech space watch??? Come on. They even tested it in the stratosphere. You'd think quick legibility would be key. Oh well. I'd probably excuse it at half MSRP, but not at full sticker. Shame

·

Personally I think of this more as art, but given the way Fortis presents itself the confusion about the exclusion of the hour markers makes sense

Wow, I really like this version you did a great job in keeping with the style of it in an unobtrusive way.
