Anyone out there that's new-ish to the watch community, this post is for you.
Most of us, at one point or another, will look at some watches in our collection and have a loss of enthusiasm. However, before you go and sell them, consider this simple piece of advice...change the strap or bracelet.
One of the joys of watch collecting for me is linked to another hobbumy of mine which is model crafting. In the same way you can modify a plane or a Gundam, you can modify the look of your watches with a simple change of the strap.
Another benefit is that it forces you to understand your watches as well as yourself a bit more. You have to learn how to remove spring bars and replaalcd them as well as consider what kind of look you want for a give piece.
I loved my Mako 2 on the bracelet but I found myself choosing other watches over it time and time again. I decided to change it to a waffle strap from Straphabit. It completely changes the look and feel of the watch and I find myself enthusiastic about it again and it's getting more wrist time as a result!
