Today it's the reissue limited edition of 25 of the first ever waterproof watch (beating Rolex by almost a decade)...the Waltham Field & Marine THERMO based on the original case design and the dial designed to match the patina of the earliest example still in existence...

i love this dial to death

I'm transfixed looking at this dial! Gorgeous yellow and beautiful watch! Thanks for the 🏫 education.

·

Seriously awesome 😎

·

I love the history of the watch and the colour of the dial is just awesome 👏

·

Ohhhhh, yeah, I’m digging this

Looking at this watch is mesmerizing. I love it! I have a question though. Are all of the scratches around where the bezel meets the crystal artificial?

Thanks for pointing that out…Watch just arrived late yesterday and this was the first close-up.

Fortunately, it was just schmutz not scratches in the bezel. You can see from the attached image after a quick cleanup…

They are incredibly well made Spike...the quality is everywhere in the watch including the strap. Everything is top grade and the dial is superlative.

Something to think about....I like the green one 🤔

·

I thought it was a different watch? I don’t remember tbh.

I feel a similar smugness when I look at my franken Shturmanskije Gagarin when Speedys pop up in my feed.

Btw, if Rolex doesn’t do a modern reissue of the Oyster in 2026 and its brochure and advertisement to come with, it would be possibly the biggest ball-dropping by them

Is this from Watch Angels?

Is this from Watch Angels?

Yes - it was the first limited edition they produced of the original THERMO. They made 25 pieces.

@LRFAntiqueWatches Stan was involved in its creation working with Watch Angels.

I think it turned out really well.

I love it. I've seen some of their newer dials of this model and I would love to own one. I've also course drooled over some of their other watches.
