To me the diver style is very versatile. But maybe a very thick diver watch wouldn’t work with leather. Most likely skin divers up til about 13mm thickness I guess should still work
I Don’t tend to wear leather on any watch unless it has been wax treated. As for Divers, I would much prefer a bracelet, or a rubber unless the leather strap is significant enough to accommodate the thickness of a dive watch.

I don't do leather on anything (veggie since 1982), but here's a pic of my SM300 on suede-like Alcantara.

Collab on a Collab...🤪👌🏻🤘🏻
In all seriousness, I don't usually, but like the mission of Anti-Watch Watch Club (AWWC) and the fact the give back as a 501(c)3.
Plus always wanted a Zane's Handmade single pass, he swims regularly with his personal ones.
And putting fuel in the fire... Leather strap in a diver watch with 100 meters of WR!
Depends on application. Sailcloth is better.
Rubber maybe?
It works, especially when you're not using divers around water.
