On the hunt for an affordable manual-wind watch part 1, HMT
I’ve more and more come to the conclusion that i might like a manual-wind watch. I like winding my watches and that fits neatly with them.
HMT is a brand that i eventually want to get a watch from. These are the two that have caught my eye in thier current catalog. I have a feeling that finding an affordable one on a secondary market sight will involve some education that i don’t really feel like doing. But do share your suggestions and links if you knows of any genuine models that aren’t too vintage, that you would recommend. Thank you

As in age. Like I don’t mine one that is 10 or 15 years-old, but I just worry about servicing costs for really old HMTs

It is quite hard to find a true vintage HMT, most are frakenwatches that you will get really cheap. I have a Janata - in all liklihood a frankenwatch, but I'm fine with that. It cost me £10 on ebay, works fine, looks fine and I have a bit of the HMT story in my collection. So if you're buying directly from HMT that will save any hassle of the minefield of the franks. But HMT have a lovely historical story and I think you'll be happy with one of their watches 👌

Yeah. India isn’t my main interest but I think it’s interesting to have a bit of watchmaking taste from around the globe. And these make great affordable classic dress watches.
