SOTC November 2022 Part# 1

We are getting close to the year's end and I don't foresee much changes in my collection composition.

The collection grew with the years and is now spread over several shelves in the study's bookcase. The top shelf currently has 6 watches in BOXY modular watch winders that are pretty neat. Each winder is a stand alone module that has contact on its top and bottom and can therefore receive power from the base or other BOXY modules and relay this power to the modules that sits on top. The base can feed power to 12 modules, so still have some room for expansion.

The only negative remarks I have are about the LED that are very bright and forced me to use some dark film stickers to tame them down to an acceptable level. It's also fairly easy to shake the modules loose from their contacts but they will immediately start spinning again once power is restored.

From top to bottom and left to right:

  1. Yema Wristmaster cream dial.
  2. Dietrich SD-1 Pacific Blue
  3. Vostok 710 Amfibia (I know that everybody spells it as Amphibia but the Cyrillic script is definitively Amfibia).
  4. Mathey-Tissot AMWG collab MT369
  5. San Martin SN007-G-X 37mm 62MAS
  6. Long Island Watch ISL-68 "Great Wave" fully lumed dial mini-turtle.

I'm going back to the Boxy winders, are they all running fine ? I have six since 2018 and some of them no longer wind anything (still a good looking presentation set up, though...).

I am considering tech night classes in order to try to take them apart and see what's wrong :p

Well, I think that bought the first module back in 2020 and the last one arrived a few weeks ago. So I now have 7 modules and they all of them are working.
