Coffee and a Safari

A rare combination of clear sky and not having to be early at work led me to drink my coffee on an hour that didn't let me feel like I was going to be executed at dawn.

The steam from the coffee is condensing on the Lorier's crystal, obscuring the dial just when I thought could catch both the shimmer of the copper dial and the blue heat treated hands. I still decided to keep the photo because I never thought before of shooting pics through smoke or steam and I'm quite curious to see for myself what are the effects it can have on my photos.

Anyway, catching the blue color of the hands when the dial is shimmering in all its coppery glory was a bust again, the G12 doesn't seems to be able to do it even when I can clearly see with my eyes the different colors.

Maybe I need a better camera or maybe I need to learn to use the one I already have, but the former will cost me money and the later sounds too much like real work.

I'd rather just strap on my Safari and finish my coffee.

You may not have gotten the shot you were after, but you got some good ones. And it looks like one of the jungle beasts got you as well.
