Are clocks okey?

Just got this clock from aliexpress in today in conjunction with my Berny. must say this thing feels better then my bulova by a mile. it’s got a 7 day power reserve. a power reserve sundial. and a small seconds register. i also notice the beat rate is much slower then compared to my bulova too. only downside thus far is it’s a bit wobbly because of the way it’s tri legs are. but as a whole, I’m quite happy

It claims to be 130x130x130mm on the listing. and it definitely is pretty large. Here it is next to my hand for a bit of reference.

Yeah the size is great. I have not had to touch it Spence Monday (and still longer yet). the winding all feels good. and as per the bell. it’s very loud, and it takes quite a while to fully wind. so I’m assuming it’ll ring for a while too.

also no problem, here’s a link

Fair enough. I mean the constant sounds coming from phones can be annoying while trying to sleep. battery powered ones are more accurate, but not as fun. plus mechanical can be used in case of power outages.

from what I’ve been able to tell. mine is pretty accurate out of the box. but even if it wasn’t, the screw head regulator makes tuning it both easy, and accurate.

plus beyond that a little trick I’ve always used with my mechanical clicks is to set it 15 minutes ahead. that Way I’m always up earlier then I intend to be.

I can actually totally understand all the stuff on the back! Is it accurate enough, or are you regulating it?

Why is there a bow on it, the hanging hook? Is that just to make it look like a pocket watch?

Well to answer all that. it is very accurate out of the box. since I got it last week it has only lost about 10 minutes. by comparison, my bulova clock will loose about 15 minutes in 2 maybe 3 days. plus because this one has a screw head regulator. it can be adjusted much finer.

and as per the loop, I believe it’s simply an aesthetic choice.

and I’d post a lume shot, but honestly it’s pretty minimal. I mean at least compared to watches. it’s there, and if you look real hard youd probably be able to read the time. overall though I’d say it’s just there for the same reason they put terrible lume on some dress watches (ie because they could).

How does one stop the alarm once its sounded? Does it simply run its course until it has no power?
