Citizen BN0228 2ndish impressions

I first saw this watch in person months and months ago.

Wow this thing is aggressively ugly. I like it. It's so light! I like that dull matte look of the titanium a lot. The strap is the most luxurious strap I've ever had my hands on. One day I'll have a sleeve friendly watch, lesson learned with this one, put on sweater first then this piece of power armor. There's something a bit about a citizen when it's skipping seconds for want of charge, "Please sir may I have some light." Great lume. Wow this is a tool watch! I totally understand the choices made, big castle turret looking grip on bezel to use with gloves, super readable. Fantastic bezel. Strap is so chunky, almost as thick as watch at one point. There's some wrist overhang, but not from lug to lug, so I don't mind it. Is this cyberpunk? Lug to lug is really good, still a big watch. Date is TINY.

I've wanted one of these for a while, they are absolutely hideous house bricks and I love them! From this angle it looks a bit like a Seiko Tuna that's embedded in concrete.
My main reservation is just the enormous size of it, it would feel like the watch is wearing me! Does it fit under the cuff of anything like a jacket or coat?

It's a big watch for sure, it feels like a slightly more compact Casio Duro. It's for sure not sleeve friendly, but I'm consistently wearing similar sized g shocks, so it doesn't bother me. It fit okay under my medium winter coat sleeve. I'm not one to wear long sleeve shirts, or a more formal jacket, so we'll how that goes! The  super light weight really sells it, I bet the strap is as heavy or maybe slightly heavier than the watch. The lug to lug is a great size for me. I bet it'll slim down a bit with a strap change. I have around 6.5 in wrist if that helps.

For me the biggest surprise were sparkles on the dial :-) It's so ugly watch that it's beautiful.

Those are great pics! I wasn't expecting the slightly shiny face, but the fancy parts go real well with the more rugged aspects of the watch.

Thank you, this one is my friend's watch. I can imagine wearing it sometimes :-)

I'd go with vaporware since its so light. Beautiful monstrosity. Let its existence threaten small towns along the seaside. Cancel your vacations, the citizen is in the water.
