You’ve been….. THUNDER(BIRD) STRUCK

Recently stumbled upon this Rolex Oyster Perpetual DateJust Turn-O-Graph aka Rolex Thunderbird. Rolex’s first watch to feature a rotational bezel. This is a 2003 model. It was discontinued in 2011. The black dial, with the red second hand and the red date is 🔥🔥🔥

This is easily taking the top spot on my want/need/desire list of watches. I would take this over a Milgauss (previous #1) any day of the week and twice on Sundays. What do you think?

Great looking watch,it does have a slight milgauss look with the red hand ,only problem is it's 36mm I prefer bigger watches

I think it’s a very good every day watch with the oyster strap. The red hand and date look collectible to me and as a Rolex collector I often asked myself why Rolex ever had a red date and discontinued it. For my own watches I prefer a black date, but for collecting pieces you never go wrong with rare and discontinued models.

Thanks for reminding me of this model. I remember looking at this piece numerous times at the AD back in the early aughts but never pulling the trigger...I wish I had 😕
