Nwa!! The First Ball in the collection

Been looking at balls for a while.....no pun intended.

Finally pulled the trigger on an amazing 904L steel marvelight.

Supremely cool! I especially love Ball's slightly wider indexes; gives it such a planted and masculine look, without being ostentatious.

Yeah I agree. It's also shocking how many specs it shares with a rolex milgauss too.

·

Wow, that’s stunning!

Congrats 🍻

My husband has been looking for the perfect ball watch for ages and is still on the search. I love how solid they feel in the hand and on the wrist. The nicest tritium watches in my opinion.

·

Great watch! I prefer this NWA, though.

Always thought these were super sharp looking timepieces! Congrats

·

Pretty good alternative to a Rolex Datejust if you ask me, from a distance probably indistinguishable

·

Very nice watch. I have been looking at getting the same one but with the blue dial. You will have to let me know how it is.

·

No puns intended, but puns certainly interpreted.  😂  Nice watch though.

·

Wow is that a sharp watch, both literally and metaphorically!

Congrats on the pickup! What’s your impression of the tritium so far? I’ve been curious on how useful that is (or isn’t) for daily wear when compared with regular lume?

After owning it for about a month now, I can honestly say that the Tritium is great. I don't know why more companies don't use it. It's amazing in darkness always just glowing away. My Seikos are initially brighter for about 10 mins then they fade whereas this is a constant glow. Very cool and handy on the night-stand!

I’ve never seen it in the metal, but its a feature that I‘m really intrigued by. Other brands that I’m aware if that utilize it (Marathon and Bertucci) are still reasonably priced. Checking the time during the night is the most practical use of lume... but if it’s hardly up for the task it seems tritium would be more popular. I wonder if it’s just something brands can’t do in house.

It's a cool soft glow and they're able to use different colours which is really cool!

Wow, I’ve been drooling over the blue version of this watch for a few days, I’m thinking of rewarding myself for my 60th birthday , could you confirm it’s the 40mm version and what’s the lug to lug? And one other questu on, are there any half links to micro adjust?

thanks

Hi, yes mines the 40mm.

Lug to lug is about 48mm but the first end link is male and this extends it to about 52. If you put it on leather strap tho you won't have this problem.

There are half links included and I managed to get a good fit.

My wrist is 6 and 3/4 inches.

It wears very well but has a nice bit of presence. It's only marginally bigger than my 39mm longines conquest and yud barely notice a difference.

You get the obvious benefit of the different lume but also a higher grade of steel and higher anti-magnetism  same as the rolex milgauss

I'd also add that the bracelet is decent quality and has a chunkyness to it anyway and, visually, this makes the lug to lug not seem as bad.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply, my wrist is about 7”-7 1/4 depending on the temperature. I know what you mean about the male end link scenario, usually if the case shape tapers slightly you can get away with it but I’ve sold a few really nice watches because of that aspect as I’m not over keen on leather or rubber or NATO straps, the Longines Conquest is also in the radar but I prefer the looks of the Ball especially with the cyclops.

Me personally  if I could only have one watch out of the ball or the longines conquest, it'd be the ball everytime.

The conquest is gorgeous especially in blue, but the ball just has more going for it. Unless, that is, you need a 300m water resistance 😉

The fact you say it wears relatively small fills me with joy and I think I'll have to have a look at the blue and green versions at some point. I'm also very happy about their steel upgrade. Anti-magnetism isn't Milgauss levels, but I'm happy to keep it away from MRI scanners. 😁

Edit: actually I think they are milgauss levels of antimagnetic. Bonus!

  1. Mine just arrived, I must say first impression is favourable, the blue is a very nice shade, looks like I will have to remove 1 full link and a half link 7.25 wrist for reference. Thanks for the recommendation ✅

Ha ha, awesome 👌 wait till you get it in the dark. That radioactive glow!

Congratulations, I hope you have been enjoying it a lot. I got mine this week, also in grey and I am so in love with it the moment I removed it from the box. I am glad I chose the grey one, I got a very good deal on that specific color and I think it looks very nice and dressy.

The bracelet is very nice and original, I love its chunkyness, too. The only small gripe I have with it is that the clasp is a bit hard to open.

Sorry for the late reply, I just wanted to comment on the color. I also got the grey one and it looks really refined and not at all boring. Initially I was also more interested in the blue one, but I got a very good deal for the grey variant and I have no regrets at all.
