Is it a good 200cad bargain? Seagull 1963

I was in the market for a budget chronograph , i could find a few options around 200cad mark (from Timex, some micro brand, and likes of pagani).

Even seiko , citizen has some offerings in quartz speci if i am okay with the used ines

Most of them are little too chunky but there i found this.

I know its Chinese, probably use and throw kind of stuff but at 200cad it feels like a good value proposition.

What you guys think?

If it would have been that yellowish/cream dial with blue hands i would have bought it

Already but its grey one with black hand.

So what do you guys suggest.

I own this watch and it is very elegant, wearable, lovely case back. The push buttons are very clicky and satisfying. The cons are the movement noise, the dial legibility in bright light and a slight misalignment of the arm on the chrono subdial on my watch.

Not sure if it is strange but i like noisy watches. i love the ticking sound ifnit is loud. Have you been using it for a while now? How is the accuracy how many seconds per day i can expect?

I own it for almost two years. Accuracy is not an issue since I switched watches every second day. Something tells you will be happy with this watch.

I have one of the limited reedition watches and absolutely adore it. It has huge history and a swiss-born movement.

Great way to upgrade it is by putting it on a good leather strap. I have mine on a dark green ostridge leg strap and it looks awsome.

I am just surprised at the grey dial and black hands. Mine is yellow dial, blue hands.

I thought maybe it was a model not made by sea-gull (the factory has "unofficial copies" for which they supply the movements but the 中国 天津手表厂 China, Tianjin watch factory writing on the dial is supposedly only for authentic sea-gull watches.

In any case, specially for 200cad I definitively recommend this watch.

Yeah you are right on point it might not be a official made one those are going for more than 500 with slclosed case back this one definitely uses a seagull movement, so may be a not officia but definitely a seagull, do share your watch picture with the strap if poss

The price is fair if it has an ST1901 movement in it.

Do you have a photo of the case back?

Like someone else is mentioned, the dial print 中国 天津手表厂 is for watches made by the Tianjin Watch Factory (Sea-Gull) only. You can tell by looking at the case back.
