It’s never dumb and bad to have your own opinion about what YOU like in a watch. Whether a watch is “worth it” is up to each individual. I have a Carrera, but after trying it on several times, I have found that I don’t have any love for or particularly care for the Link. Proprietary bracelets and integrated lugs can lead to problems down the road if TAG ever decides to cease production of the line and/or parts.
Also, just an FYI if you’re not aware, TAG, for some reason, gets an inordinate amount of hate from watch snobs. I have many theories about why (e.g. TAG’s reputation for high volume, the use of ETA movements, claiming that a Seiko designed chronograph was an in house movement, smartwatches, etc.), but if you don’t own one, just be aware of that.
In the next few months I plan on buying something a step up from my Seiko SPB155 and I think it might be the Link. I’m going to try one on in the next few weeks and hopefully it grows on me more. I’m still a definite novice as far as movements and complications go. My two automatic watches are the Seiko SPB155 and Vero Open Water Ridge Trail. I just enjoy wearing them. Thanks for the input.

Agree with @jbird7986 , don’t listen to the hate mail. I have an Autavia Flyback and love every minute it’s on the wrist. Mine has fixed lugs and until warranty is up I use only TAG straps for now. Bit of a pain but I wouldn’t give the watch up for straps. Rims don’t make the car, just dress it up.

I think it looks the business! Is it worth it? Absolutely, if you love it!
Killer dial!
Almost no one is going to even notice it's a tag (or any other mfg either) If it makes you feel good when you look at it on your wrist, buy it!
