Hamilton Roland

Hamilton got me into watches.  Not this watch, but the one that it replaced. I lost one in Katrina.  It needed repair and was in my box on my dresser.  I don't remember what that Hamilton was except that it was early Sixties and round.  The internet had not yet become the resource that it is today. I lost any pictures that may have helped with an ID.

This is a Roland, an entry level watch from the late 1940's.  It was made for only one year, but they made a ton of them. The Roland stayed in Hamilton advertising for years. It is not rare.

It needs a new crystal.  It is pretty and reliable.  The faux beads are unusual. Not bad for an inexpensive estate find.

Beautiful. I love the cream patina. Congrats!

There is so much to like about that watch, but right now I am just marveling at the numbers. Was that style of typography common in that era?
