Hi there, ๐
The thing is, I'm going to travel soon to Thailand with my family. Its been years since the last time I traveled to an Asian country. I know that in travelling, I should never wear my luxury watch, so I will most likely wear my G-Shock, or such.
But a good advice from you fine gentlemen is welcomed.
Is there anything else I need to know (mostly watch related) for the travel?

Just take a Casio and go watch hunting there.
There's no rule to say you can't wear a luxury watch when traveling. We all need to be sensible about where we are and who might be looking at us, but that doesn't preclude wearing something fancy.
You need a tool watch, anyone will do to cope with all the different environments you throw at it such as sea water etc a Casio thatโs waterproof sounds like a good choice.
Personally I use a diver such as seiko or CW etc
Have a great holiday ๐๐ป
Hi there. Im a fellow watch enthusiast from Thailand and from my experience + what i've heard, watch crime here isnt too high compared to Europe/ the Americas. However I'm quite ashamed to tell you that recently this year there was a case of watch theft in Thailand (like using violence to obtain the watch from a tourist's wrist, it was a Panda daytona ๐ ) . As long as you are not planning on walking down those "shady" alleys or areas, you should be good to go. Enjoy your stay here!
The last thing I want to worry about when I travel is my watch. This is when the solar/quartz watches come out. I am doing things on vacation that may damage a watch, so I donยดt want anything too expensive on my wrist.
Also, shopping for a souvenir-watch abroad is definitely fun.
If in doubt wear a Casio
I think people overthink watches when it comes to travel. Nobody will notice a Seiko, Longines, CW, etc... Wear the watch/watches you like, and enjoy the trip.
As @watchesxcoffee said, stay away from the shady areas... There are parts of Ottawa I wouldn't walk around at night, let alone while wearing an obvious expensive watch.
A cheap diver watch like Orients or a G-Shock will suffice
Hmmm, good idea ๐ thanks

๐ I really tried not to overthink, but the clips I saw in the social media of people got their watches stolen made me have second thought
๐ thanks, I will keep that in mind

To me, it's better to be careful than crying over a stolen watch .... since I want a piece of mind and relax in my travel, I will wear a Casio
