Tandorio #2 -- a true "desk diver" w/no dive bezel

I ordered this watch sterile, but I think I might have done the brand a disservice, because it looked quite OK with the printing.

And it's a pretty decent build for the dollars ($70USD on Ali sale), at least so far.

  • Movement : NH35A auto

  • Case width: 36mm without crown

  • Case thick : 14mm

  • Case Material : 316L

  • 200m WR (screw crown)

  • Lugs : 18mm

  • Crystal : domed AR sapphire

  • Lumed marks and hands

  • Lug to lug : 41.5mm

I like the look, although if someone argued it was kinda schizophrenic for them, what with the diver dial and no bezel, I wouldn't argue--but it's easily readable, and the dial dances wonderfully in the light.

Plus, I always liked the orange minute hand on my Aqualung diver, so I'm happy with it here, too.

Is it a serious watch? Well, it's serious fun, it's very comfortable (although I may get a steel bracelet for it if I find one I like) and I'm thinking I'll wear it quite a bit for work.

It’s a unique look for sure. Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate it.

I love sterile dials and it works with this watch. One of the things that triggered my watch obsession was the closeup showing of the watches worn by Barney Collier (Greg Morris) on the original Mission Impossible TV show in the 60's where they showed sterile dial watches in critical timing situations. I ran right out and found the closest Timex to what I saw.

Thanks, fh! I never noticed that about the sterile watches but I saw the original shows🤝

That is a decent cool looking watch. I have bought 3 or 4 sterile watches and I should have bought them with minimum text print at the 12 o'clock position. All of them with those monster specs mentioned and less or equal to your price point. Unfortunately, the honeymoon phase ran quick, got bored and I abandoned my bride for a spicy Mamacita. LOL 😂

I think I posted earlier here that I'm kind of exploring the low and mid-low affordables from China just to get an idea of where QC is at these days, especially with the highest profile Chinese companies marketing to the west.

And I think it's really interesting that, with the exception of Sea-Gull, they're not really the legacy Chinese brands.

Fiyta, Beijing and Shanghai and such exist in the west, but so far as I can see they're not moving near as many pieces as brands like San Martin, Steeldive, Addiesdive, Sugess, Tandorio, and Escapement Time, and a few others.

So far, I'm finding that there's very competitive bang for the buck, especially in the range from about $70USD to maybe $450 for buyers who spend some time with the reviews.

And this is my second Tandorio in that low price range. At this point--and this price point--I'd be perfectly happy to wear the brand, especially on a watch that really isn't an homage. This is a completely new fun take on how to use a dive dial.

I've pressure tested a couple of their cases and.. let's just say the results weren't good. Were I you I'd avoid trusting their water resistance rating and treat the watch as having 30m (it cam get wet) rating.

Cool watch!

Ooh, a Brando style watch. Nice!

Nice watch. I’m gonna have to check this out. I like the Simplistic style of it.

I have watches that stem from Swiss to Chinese Specials. I can't find myself buying big name to mid tier micro brands anymore. The way the Chinese Specials are turning out great pieces for your money - I just can't see myself spending any monies on a Seiko, Citizen, Mido etc. Wear the Tandorio with good health. Stay Thirsty My Man 🍻👊🏽
