HMT Kaushal D233-7341

One of the most prized pieces in my collection: the HMT Kaushal. I received it in 2010. Huge respect for HMT, and I have two others. from the company.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand Kaushal to be Sanskrit for something like skills or dexterity. And it fits.

The watch is refined, it's detailed, it's well crafted, and it captures some beautiful culture.

I bought it as a more formal watch, but it works for casual, too. And chances are very slim there'll be another one like it in the room 😎

(Thank you, Hari! 🤝)

Man, that lug-to-band transition is astounding, considering the bezel! Perfection! 😍

I'm not familiar with any watches from India. Very interesting, thanks for posting this! 🍻

Post more if you got 'em!

That's a beautiful, unique looking piece 👌

You’re spot on with your Sanskrit. Kaushal means skilled or accomplished and interestingly is a common surname in India as well.

You have a lovely HMT and honestly I haven’t seen one like this. It exudes an ‘oriental’ charm. These models are rarely seen in the wild. The most commonly seen HMTs are pilots/janatas and kohinoors.

They actually have a new website and so many watches are in stock now.

·

What a stunning dial! Fantastic how the busy pattern together with the creamy background creates non busy dial.

·

Absolutely gorgeous! How did you buy it, did you have to get it shipped?

·

I agree with @WatchYourIntruder on the stunning dial. Probably not something I'd wear often, but it is beautiful.

Yes, it was sent by mail from India by the seller.

It looks like it was worth the wait and effort. Enjoy it, I'm thinking of getting my own HMT now!

I have two of the limited edition white dial Pilots seen a few times here on the forum, two of the more usual black dial Pilots with the roughly but charmingly hand done lume, and a Chirag. They all run beautifully.

This #hmt is ornamental 🤩👍
