This is me too. I’ve done most of the cars from the icon and creator expert series. Also some of the NASA stuff and most recently the large working lighthouse.
I also collect the Lego winter village stuff and put it out around Christmas with the Home Alone house. Sort of my version of a snow village like my grandmother used to put out each year. 😄
Right there with you.
Easily more than half the joy of owning different movements and complications is the way you interact with them differently to get them to perform their task.
I always set the time and I even always correct the date before it goes on my wrist. However, I am not an accuracy snob. If I love the aesthetic of the watch and its function, I am fine with 20 seconds per day.
I am also the guy that sets all my watches 2-5 minutes ahead to keep myself on time. I even do this on my GS Spring Drive and it is immensely accurate.
It’s an Artem sailcloth. The strap is damn near the price of the Helm. But they are really nice straps for anyone considering one.
Also for what it’s worth, as everyone knows it takes forever to wait for a helm. But it is a really freaking cool watch for the price. If anyone is on the fence, just sign up and wait. If you don’t want it anymore by the time your number comes up, fine. But I think it’s 400ish bucks so well spent.
