Midsize Omega SMP

This little honey has always been a piece I’ve been interested in. While I’ve owned the newest SMP and enjoyed its full 42mm case, my curiosity for the previous generation’s midsize option has always been there. I’ve never held one but I hear they wear a bit larger than the 36mm dimension would suggest. The 18mm lug width does seem interesting as it’s of course a non-tapering bracelet. Do any of you have experience with this specific model?

I have looked at this watch many times. I think the Helium Escape Valve offsets the size and makes 36mm a great option.  The 18cm bracelet will work - probably looks awesome.  The case size trend to smaller pieces works well with this watch. I have the 36mm Explorer I . Both are sports watch with robust cases. The bracelet tapers but wears well because of how substantial the bracelet is. Omega has a super solid bracelet and will look even better . My wrist is 7.5 inches/20 cm

I don’t have this one, but like you I have the 42, but honestly, I think this would wear perfectly fine. I also think the smaller bracelet in this case is a big plus. I opted for the rubber strap on my SMP, because I really disliked the lake of taper on my smallish wrist.

Yes.  I have a 6.5/6.75” wrist.  Bought this watch once a few years ago and sold it To make room for an  Explorer 16570.  I couldn’t live with out it and bought it again.  I won’t make the same mistake twice!  The mid sized seamaster is a gem.  The size is perfect because the case and bracelet have the perfect amount of presence to carry the smaller diameter.  It fits me like a glove.  It does not have much in the way of bracelet adjustment, however it does include half links that give it plenty of fitment options.

Good luck finding one complete!
