Hate this new NATO stap

Just got this new nato strap on my Citizen BM8180-03E and I have to say I hate it!

It makes the watch feel like tiny because of the way the strap sides bulge out.

Is this because it’s a small watch? Small wrist (7in)?

Just wondering what other think.

I think it looks cool. Enjoy!

It could just be this particular strap or a combination of all the things you noted above.

That said, I believe this is pretty common with how traditional NATOs wear since they have the extra strap material looping around along with the keeper design. You could take a look at single-pass NATOs, while perhaps a bit less secure they are far less bulky in my opinion.

Love the color combo you got going on though regardless, sharp looking piece!

Thanks. I think I'll wear it for a while and see how it does.

I wasn’t a big fan of mine at first (I usually prefer bracelets and don’t like leather at all). It grew on me, though, and I came to like the bulk of fold-over strap. I think it looks pretty cool on yours!

I also find that I lean toward bracelets And not a huge fan of leather.

We’ll see how this nato strap woks out.

@8lue42, check out Haveston.com.  A bit pricier than your average NATO but they are single pass and use floating keepers so you don't have to do that "fold and tuck in the tail" thing.

This has always been my issue with NATO straps. Perhaps you could try this:

If I ever wear NATO straps I always do it like this now instead.

Those are nice looking. Might give one a try.

Looks fine to me.

Nato straps are an acquired taste. Some people cut the over hang but I'd go with a single pass instead.

That’s not a nato strap

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks good from this angle.

I notice the same thing.  They always look so much better in photos Than they do on my wrist.  I suspect some folks wear them much tighter than I do, or they only post pictures after the strap is broken in.
