Baby’s first Armitron

No story behind this. I saw someone on here with a cooler one that I couldn’t find, so I settled. $20 on eBay. I was excited to get the blue display, they wanted too much for it. So, I was excited for the red display, couldn’t find one. So here I am with the shelter dog that nobody wanted.. the green. I have a couple complaints. 1. The led doesn’t stay on. I realize this is probably because the battery would die in under a week but since I give 0 shits, I’m looking for a hack. 2. The case size is smaller than I imagined so it will probably spend a lot of time in one of my displays. 3. I had to put a nylon strap on it because they come with a metal strap and metal straps can bite my ass.

If you wedge something sufficiently bulky between the pusher and the contact that it pushes down to complete the circuit it will stay on but yea you'll be going thru batteries really fast

Thanks for the tip. I’ll probably do it anyway because a man with a constantly lit Armitron has his pick of any woman on the planet. #facts

I know but I was up metaphor creek without a…. metaphor

You want this to be larger?

·

I like the green. 👌 Looks like a good size for your wrist, from this pic. Unless you just like larger watches?

·

Suh-weet! And the green looks awesome!

·

Very nice!

I am sure this is probably too late, and the green version looks great, but I noticed earlier that Amazon was having a sale on some Armitron watches, and the Griffy with the blue LED was one of them.

I like the old school version the big red digital I'm very sure they have it.

Yeah, I know they have plenty of options now. I swear I looked and, for some reason, all they had was green. I’m not upset, I think they al look cool. And by cool I mean nerdy as hell.

I'd have to see the inside, but I imagine the contact for the illumination is basically a leaf spring that can be bent to keep the circuit shorted. Of course the pusher would be unsprung, hence the @shazerbot shimming suggestion.
