Review your collection. Yes or no?

Should we all on watch crunch review our watches in our collection? It could be from one watch collection to infinite :)

I will slowly present them but would think it might be helpful for the community to do it ourselves instead of reading reviews from online professionals who are biased because they can’t really hate a watch (if you know what I mean).

I like the idea, but I wouldn't agree necessarily with you, that our reviews would be less biased. We all bought our watches based on personal preference. Therefore we're much more likely to be all positive about our watches. 🤔

I do plan to review mine, and I'll try very hard to be impartial - but I know there will be rose tinted glasses and glossing over issues. It's just part of being human.

I voted no. Would review of each watch in our collection be ‘forced’? Voluntary seems reasonable currently. As I read this, WC would have a news feed flooded with reviews. Also, some people are simply going to be more talented at this than others. Let those that want to do so, imho.

That said, I agree that watch reviews on all social media platforms are utterly useless because of obvious bias. Brands supply the watches, with the tacit expectation of favorable reviews. A negative review will ice the reviewer out in the future. That’s the game, and it explains why any criticism is exceedingly minor.

I’m happy to offer candid observations on any watch in my collection. Perhaps a better implementation of the idea behind the poll is a separate area (on the left of screen like ‘Polls’), where collectors could post a list of their watches and respond to requests. Such a feature could work in different ways. But the concept is to offer direct reviews (either posted in such searchable thread or by direct response to inquiries), while not clogging the main feed.

It's a good idea but implementation could be a nightmare, lol.

That is true, but at least it would be more personal. And having many watches are also based on how to wear it to different occasions. It would be more personal but at least authentic.

Good point !

Definitely! The idea is to make it more personal and introduce also why you got it at the first place. I mean, not everyone buys a watch each month (or maybe there are some people!) but most of us have a strong history to a purchase of a watch, and telling that story would be nice paired to a review!

Depending on how many watches you have :-)

I'm not of the opinion that my opinion matters, which in turn leaves me conflicted. The first time I ever wrote a doozy of a post the browser crashed and erased everything, I ad-libbed it some time later but I've always been weary of writing too much.
