Best Watch Storage Options, Where Your Watches Remain Visible?

Hi all!

What do you find to be the best option for watch storage (2-4 watches), where they remain visible (i.e. no closed watch rolls etc.)

I’m currently using the pictured Holme & Hadfield Watch Deck (picture from holmeandhadfield.com). I like it a lot, except for the wooden pillars being rather thick hence making it a bit too delicate of an experience to put the watches on there every time, in fear of scratching them unnecessarily.

Which boxes, stands or the like have you found to be best?

I use Wolf Windsor and Rothwell watch boxes for watch storage and even though they have glass tops for display purposes, they don't serve as a display in the same way that the Holme & Hadfield products do. I have that same Holme & Hadfield display case and have the same issue as you describe. I know that they sell a leather pad , however that doesn't completely address the problem. I don't really use mine anymore, and part of the reason for that is the fact that the cover has to be removed to access the watches - I would prefer if the cover was hinged instead. Regardless of the flaws, it's still the best option for displaying watches that I've come across.

Yeah I’ve considered that one as well, but it does seem like it might be prone to scratching our watches. I’ve got a decent box with a glass top, but I’d like one a bit more “luxurious”

That Wolf Windsor is looking really tempting, would just require me to purchase some extra watches 😄 A Rothwell 4 Watch Display is looking dandy as well…

Btw the Watch Deck nowadays comes with a hinged cover (was updated just around the time I bought mine), but obviously doesn’t remove the thick wooden pillar issue.

Great to know that they've added a hinged lid. If they were to come out with a new model that included slightly smaller leather wrapped posts as well, along with the leather pad for the surface, I'd be tempted to get one.

I had started with Wolf Windsor boxes, but switched to Rothwell recently. The quality is similar, but the watches sit better in the Rothwell, and the pricing is much more attractive. I'm trying to keep my collection size in check, so I have no plans on adding yet another box, but if I do, it might be something like this box from Etsy.

It's more expensive than the Wolf or Rothwell boxes, but I think it looks awesome.

Much appreciated!

Absolutely spot on with the leather wood pillars ☝️

That Etsy box is looking very luxurious 💯

I have the Holme & Hadfield and I love it.

I have the H&H like this and I love it.

I have the two watch version of the one you showed. I use it for two broken watches with sentimental value. It’s not very convenient to take off the top. I use a conventional one with a lid on a hinge and a large window to look at the watches. I’d get an 8 or 12 watch version. If you’re looking at a box there isn’t much chance you’ll stop at 4.

Check out Volta watch boxes. I have an 8 slot and the quality exceeds the price. In my experience it’s better made than Wolf at a lower price.

I like these over the H&H due to them displaying watches facing up towards lighting. The H&H is really nicely done but doesn’t get enough directing lighting where I have mine displayed.

As good as it gets for small displays. Deals to be had pre-owned.
