Seiko 6309/6105 "Willard-Turtle" Hybrid Mod

Following up from my "MACV-SOG" mod, I decided to make plans for a diver mod, that would attempt to combine what I felt were the best elements of both the 6105 'Willard' and 6309 'Turtle', along with a few special bits here and there.

I wanted the squared indices and baton hands of the Willard, but with the more rounded turtle case and 22mm lug width. I also wanted a day-date complication as opposed to date only.

I settled on a CrystalTimes CT702 SKX to Turtle conversion case and bezel, with a special solid caseback with a spacer for the NH36/4R series, and a flat bevelled sapphire crystal.

The dial was a SRP495 dial from TokeiLab:

The NH36 was also fitted with a 'secret weapon':

The NH36 was mated to the dial and a set of Steeldive 6105 homage hands

And finally, the CrystalTimes bezel was fitted with a fully-lumed ceramic countdown insert from Yobokies, and to accommodate its function, a modified bidirectional click-spring:

All parts acquired, I once again let Faz (@smodder_sg) work his magic, and boy did he build me a monster of a watch:

Great build! 👍

I am shocked that the Steeldive hands match the OEM dial lume so perfectly. 😲👏

Agreed, it’s slightly “yellower” in daylight, but glows almost as bright as OEM

It came out great. In picture, the hands match almost perfectly. I didn't see the difference until you mentioned it. Awesome job!

As above.. the baton indices look so much better than the standard round ones. Nice build, it's making my turtle look substandard 👍

Thanks, it definitely looks OEM - which is the best compliment for any Seiko mod I feel
