The purchase
This model is the plexiglass version, still brand new. I picked it up for some under 1k€ from a german online watch dealer.
Junghans has discontinued the production of its Meister Drivers, which had been going on since 2016, so I consider myself lucky to have found a reasonably priced new piece after scanning the market for about 3 months.
The watch
The case hugs comfortably against the wrist and wearing it one could forget the watch completely, especially when one is more accustomed to comparably heavier watches.
The dial is a beautiful deep grey-brown and is easily readable thanks to the characteristic „digital style“ of the arabic numerals.
The domed plexiglass crystal scratches fairly easily which in my everyday life is hardly noticeable. Winding the watch is now a daily routine that helps me slowing down by acknowledging both the significance and the scarcity of my time.
The default leather strap appears stiff and cannot compete with the quality of the watch itself. I changed it for a 3rd party black leather strap with beige accent stitching.
Personal significance
This is my first „mature“ watch purchase, I saved up to it for a year after my graduation ever since I was made aware of it through a Youtube watch review by @Max. The other watches in my now 5 piece collection are all <300€, so this is a major step up for me.
I plan to keep this beauty for all of my life. It pairs exceptionally well with my champagne Seiko 5 Sports 38mm.

Congrats. I often find Junghans a little formulaic but the Meister Drivers are sensational. The colours are great, the arabics are fantastic and they have a certain vintage Germanic charm.
If you are ever looking for an after market bracelet the Forstner Bullet pairs really well. ☻
