[SOTC] first time sharing my collections!

I've been collecting watches for almost 10 years now, I went down many different paths and learned a lot along the way. Recently I feel like my collection is relatively settled, and now would be a good time to share them with fellow enthusiasts as a milestone. Here is my collection in chronological order:

1. Sinn 556A: My first mechanical/automatic watch and my daily for many years. It is super reliable and versatile. Seeing the movement inside through the display case back was when I first learn to appreciate the intricacy of a mechanical movement.

2. Grand Seiko SLGA007: The Minamo is a watch with a lot of emotional attachment and one I will never get rid of. The wave pattern reminded me a lot of the Cayuga Lake in Upstate NY, where I spent six years of life with a lot of fond memories, including meeting my wife. I also proposed to her on a beach wearing this watch. On top of all that, it is just a gorgeous watch packed with technical innovations.

3. Seiko SPB 143: This is the impulse buy that I might swap out for a vintage GS45. For whatever reason, the skin diver lug aesthetics really appeal to me, and at the time, the SPB143 is readily available.

4. Rolex GMT master II Rootbeer: My first Rolex. I tried for a long time to resist owning a Rolex, especially a two-tone one. I feel like it draws too much attention and is very much at odds with the tool watch aesthetics. However, when I got a chance to try on one, I was immediately smitten by the color combination of the ceramic bezel with rose gold, the heft, and the overall build quality. Although I decided I have to get one and here we are.

5. Vacheron Cornes De Vache: My first high horology piece, I lusted over this watch for a long time, and after a long chase, I finally add this one to the collection. I love everything about this watch: the sexy case shape with the cow horn lugs, the shimmering opaline dial, the intricate hand constructions, the crisp printing, etc. And of course, it comes with what is perhaps one of the most historically significant chronograph movements, Lemania 2310, finished to the Geneva seal standard. This one will stay for a long time for sure.

6. Rolex Datejust 36mm Mint green: This is technically my wife's watch. I did not care too much for it initially, but it certainly has been growing on me. The mint green color with the sunburst pattern is a nice combination for a fun summer watch. the 36mm size fits well on my 6.5-inch wrist. Maybe I will have a Datejust in the collection in the future

Welcome to WC! These are some fantastic pieces. I look forward to seeing them in #wruw .

What's your daily or do you rotate them evenly?

Awesome collection. But really, you could put any five watches next to the Cornes de Vache and I’m not really looking at any of them anyway. LOL

Fantastic collection! Especially love your GS SLGA007…stunning piece that’s on my grail list. I spent my college years up in Ithaca and as beautiful as Lake Cayuga and the area is, can’t say I miss the weather lol. Did you go to school there too?

Thanks for the welcome! I do not have a designated daily, but lately I am mostly wearing the CdV, the honeymoon phase is going strong with this one!

Hahaha, can’t agree more! It really is a stunning watch. I still can’t get over how well the lugs work with the rest of the watch!

Thanks! Yeah, I did my grad school there. I thought six months of snow was an exaggeration until I got to experience myself haha!
