Zulu Diver Octopod

Totally cool strap system

I’ve looked at these before. I could never decide if I’d think the clasp was too big or not, what are your thoughts?

Timely, just added one to my collection. @thekris they are a little thick, but certainly not unbearable. I cannot stand the extra nato bulk and feel this does a much better job of hiding it.

I don't find the clasp to be too thick. I agree with @AllTheWatches. The system does a nice job at reducing the bulk of most NATO.

I've taken to trimming my straps down so there is not as much side bulk.

Also since I'm particular about certain things, I've indexed where I like the buckle to ride using a permanent marker line for where end up in each side lol 😂.

Haven't tried the ribbed ones yet.

Thanks for sharing, been looking at these as well. Do you think the clasp would work with other straps not just the ones they offer on the site, like a perlon for example? Or do you think the way the strap and clasp intertwine means that it will not work with anything else?

Very cool, looking at these myself too. 👍

I think the Octopod clasp could work with other straps, but you would likely need to trim then down to a shorter length. The straps offered by Zulu Diver with the system are significantly shorter than your average NATO.

I like the idea of using the clasp with some of my perlon straps, but I haven't gotten that far in my experimentation. 😂
