Winder or no winder?

I like the look and utility of watch winders. They seem to be a neat way to store and display your automatic watches. However, I haven't purchased one because I can't decide (a) if they're worth the investment - value proposition, and (b) if a winder will hurt my pieces.

I would end up having to set them anyway if they’re more than a few seconds off.

It all depends on the watch. A winder if there are a number of complications and it take a good bit of time to set the watch.

Unless you have a complicated perpetual calendar watch there is no reason to use a watch winder. It's a misnomer. It DOES NOT wind your watch.

If it’s a watch with a date that I wear relatively frequently, then I’ll put it in the winder.

Have a fancy gyro one, won't use it as I've no complicated watches & I don't want to wear them out.

I have an 8 watch winder. I put my moon phase and date complication watches in it.
