I’m Surrounded

This is just the watch band tools and springbars I found in my bedroom yesterday while only casually looking. I usually change straps in my office so there are spring bars everywhere there. A lot of these tools came with straps whose packaging I opened in my bedroom, but there are lots in the office. (Okay my office is a breakfast nook with a desk in it.)

I’m certain there are more spring bars too, and have been more that I just vacuumed up. These were all from an area that is harder to vacuum and that is could see. I occasionally get a magnetic sweeper out and collect them.

I keep giving them away to friends and family each time they beg me to stop by to change their straps because it's a daunting process to some. But they just keep coming... Maybe it's a sign I buy too many straps. 😜

The sign of a true addict 😉

It's a slightly cheaper addiction than watches. 😂

I am addicted to buying both tho…

Feel you, bro.

Ha ha, I have a few of those spring bar tools in my kitchen drawer, some up in my dresser in my bedroom and then of course in my watch tool kit.

But all of my spring bars are in my tool kit, in one place, so I don't have to hunt.

Just went through my stuff today. Just a few items I needed to sort out, cleanly separating parts for different movements, which I simply stored in different places are now clearly labeled. Spring bars (18mm, 19mm, 20mm (fat/regular), 22mm) are now in separate bags and clearly labeled.

There are spring bars tools in multiple rooms in my house. You just never know...

Looks very familiar! 😅

Tell me you have a problem without telling me you have a problem. . .

Or don’t tell your friends to do your own work on your watches. People are always asking me to change their batteries out. The ironic thing is, I don’t buy Quartz watches anymore, because I hate changing Batteries. 🪫 Anybody wants me to change a watch battery for them because I feel weird charging them. I tell them to get a 10 pack of the batteries they need and I keep the excess. That way they get a good deal and I don’t have to pay for batteries.

So, it isn’t just me, then? Good to know. 🤝

I go into a panic when I cannot locate my Bergeron spring bar tool.

I have a nightmare drawer that’s full of watch crud, papers, ancient unnameable straps… I have a separate organised box with ‘useful’ items.
