Every day is another anniversary at Grand Seiko

I get it these are beautiful, I own 4 GS myself ( 3 SGBWs white, green and blue) and would still buy that Spring Drive one day.. but.. so many anniversary editions. C'mon GS!.

Every day is an anniversary and they can see every aspect of nature from the window of Iwate or Shiojiri.

While, I do love GS and I do not care about the number of limited editions, but it does water down releases, which kills the aftermarket value. If they are trying to compete with the big boys, they have to limit the cannibalization of their lineup.

All true - but the gold lacquer indices and brand logo on the black lacquer dial are ❤️

I believe it's priced at 14k. USD

I don't really care when a company goes overboard on special release. Just as long as they are actually different and not a re-issue with a limited number on it.

I actually like this urushi dial variant for a GS release on their "First"GS model.

$14k usd price not so much but I guess that's where you set the prices at the upper tier of customers where they lose the majority but know people will still buy it.

I'm an admirer of Japanese craftsmanship in more things than just their watches. I agree that the dials and finishings on these are beautiful, and I'd love to get a Spring Drive some day, but I think the "anniversary" releases are well overplayed. That goes for ALL brands.
