The New Trilobe.... I think I need this watch

Just putting together a review for the new Trilobe, really interesting semi new independent. It's got a really easy and somewhat new way of telling the time. the outer portion is the hour ring, the small window is a running minutes and the semi-central disk is the running seconds. It's also powered by a very cool micro rotor automatic with a tungsten rotor!

Assuming that is showing ~10:32, this is more intuitive with it's top down read than other similar schemes.

Hadn’t seen these before. Just checked out YouTube to see the watch in action. Interesting movement, nice look.

It's a very interesting design; I love the dial and movement. I would take the blue variant in 38.5.

Nope.

Tried one of these on in store a while back, I liked it quite a bit!

Nope.

What if it were 50 years old?

What if it were 50 years old?

This is a gimmick watch.  Jump hour watches are gimmick watches.  Many are more than 50 years old. They are mostly hot garbage. In 50 years this will still be stupid and unreadable.

I appreciate interesting ways of showing the time, but honestly haven't ever seen anything that is easier than the "standard" analog or digital displays. I agree with @Aurelian that these are essentially gimmicks, given that they don't improve on the standard display, but simply offer an alternative way of representing the time. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done.

I like that it’s attainable . art on wrist

How different are the mechanics? The hour wheel has to run counter clockwise. The seconds are basically they same as any small seconds. The minutes appear to be concentric to the seconds, right? If they're clever, this requires very little modification.

FWIW, my Mr Jones Watch is pretty clearly a standard quartz movement with the hour and minute hands replaced by number wheels. And it is indeed a novelty watch of dubious legibility as @Aurelian asserts.

Love the design. i would buy this than any vintage watches it aspires to be with one eye closed.
