Rexhep Rexhepi and Louis Vuitton have just done something ridiculous!
Kosovan-born Rexhep Rexhepi is, to anyone who knows their stuff, one of the world’s greatest living watchmakers.
You might use the word ‘freak’ and I might agree, in private. His latest venture is a collaboration with Louis Vuitton (heard of them?) and sees his Akrivia brand lend some breathtaking updates to LV’s LVRR-01 Chronograph à Sonnerie. The first thing you’ll notice is the tinted sapphire dial, which exposes the elegant turns of the movement below and boasts a cheeky integrated Akrivia x LV logo. The updated movement, built from the ground up by Rexhepi, includes a Tourbillon and of course, a chiming complication. If all this isn’t enough, the LVRR-01 is in fact double-sided, with a more subtle white grand feu enamel dial on the reverse… I guess they had to do something to back the $500,000 price tag!
With only 10 made, this watch is more exclusive than Epstein’s island…
