Opinion Please

Hi Guys/Girls

I am seriously considering this watch as a future purchase. How do you think this will pair up with a ND sub 41mm as a dressy and sport combo?

I am looking to whittle down my collection to 2 core pieces. I am happy with the sub as my daily casual watch and need a nice dressy piece. I like this as it has a really interesting dial and a world time complication that is useful to me. I have nothing against pure dressy pieces which are thinner and usually time and date only, but this will be so much better to look down at.

Do you also think it's wise moving on my 124270 to part fund this in the near future?

Thanks in advance.

Absolutely 100%.

A very nice 2 watch collection indeed.

Congrats in advance.

Beautiful watch! Great Brand! I like the idea of the 2 watch collection, but why? You have an awesome collection, just add the JLC and call it a day.

Thanks.

I find that I don't wear many of my watches enough. The idea of having 2 really nice watches as the core of the collection, and may be a couple of watches in supporting role appeals to me. Since buying the sub, I find I can go weeks without wearing the explorer. I want to wear what I own, and I suppose owning less is part of the solution!!!

Wise man you are. Love JLC, great manufacturer with a rich background, love everything with this one from the case shape to the worldtimer display. Just be careful the case diameter at 41mm, it quite big forba dressier piece. But if your wrist can handle it I say GO !

I will be trying it on next week at the AD.

It's a beautiful watch. Not something I would necessarily wear, but beautiful nonetheless.

Absolutely. There is only a finite amount of wrist time to go around. I completely understand what you’re saying, still.. I’d keep the Explorer. ☺

Nice looke watch..you could wear that for any occasion

I think I prefer the older references of the master geographic slightly due to the smaller size (39ish vs 41mm) and, to me, slightly immaterial increase in height (12mm high versus 11mm). It feels more balanced to me but YMMV

That said, it's an excellent watch overall and the complication is a very useful one so it's largely a personal taste thing.

As for moving an Explorer 1....well, I don't think the Explore 1 holds a candle to the Master geographic (especially if you have a no date sub) but that's a somewhat out of consensus opinion here

Thanks. That's what I was thinking in terms of moving on the explorer 1. Great watch, but I have the sub. Both watches black dial, time only... I feel that the jlc is a far superior watch and will balance out the collection well as I still have the tudor bb pro as another casual option.

I like the JLC, but for about 1/3 the price, you could get a Longines Master

It’s all about personal preference. Don’t sell anything. You’ll regret it eventually guarantee
