Christopher Ward

Christopher Ward knows how to create quality watches at a reasonable price. Are there any other brands that do this as well as Christopher Ward?

Wow...that's nioce bro👊🔥💯

I think they are in a rare league. Monta does fantastic stuff but are more expensive. BTW, where did you get that strap?

Glycine do good watches, not to the same level of finish but they are a lot less expensive.

Watching for a response RE the strap. 😍

Jack Mason, Baltic, Monta and Bangalore Watch Company are the other microbrands I have had great experience with. I’ve heard Farrer is also another great Microbrand.

Squale.

Hanhart.

Frankly, there's a ton of companies out there making REALLY GOOD watches, and not charging the earth for them.

There's a French company on my radar called Charlie or Charlie of Paris. Their Concordia GMT is absolutely gorgeous

It is a Christopher Ward strap. I ordered it in addition to the bracelet. The bracelet is awesome, by the way.

Yes. I have CW and their bracelets are amazing. What is your take on the strap? Is it comfortable? Do you sweat under it a lot? It's it too stiff?

I know what you mean. I’ve got watches that can match CW such as my Norqain, Raymond Weil and Ollech & Wajs but they do cost substantially more, and I’ve not got hands on with a Monta, but as someone else said they’re also more expensive. Farer, Baltic and other brands that cost similar amounts are great. Farer and Baltic in particular do beautiful watches but there’s always some way CW beat them either in specs or qc. It’s why I say CW are my favourite brand.

Great watch, I bought mine last week on the bracelet.. that red and black band is likely to be my next purchase. 👍

Formex create excellent innovative watches at a fair price, particularly the Essence.

I agree about Hanhart. I have a Pioneer 417 and a Preventor9. Both excellent watches for a fair price.

I have this exact watch/strap combo (except in 40mm rather than 42). I must admit, it was the red strap that sold it to me on the marketing shots. As you say, the bracelet is also excellent. In fact I worked out that, with the various discount vouchers etc, it was best value to buy the watch on the Tide strap and buy the bracelet and strap separately. The Tide strap is also looks really good in person (I dismissed it in photos)

And made in such small numbers too, relative to other manufacturers, that they're like limited editions that aren't numbered as limited editions.

Vaer's watches punch well above the price point. I also think their ergos are top notch. Very comfy cases.

It’s very comfortable. The underside is rubber and textured to allow your wrist to “breathe”
