Are Vostok watches worth buying?

Really wanna get a diver to really use (nothing professional , fishing , swimming ,snorkeling....) and these seem really nice, is the quality ok? I don't care about the strap quality since I will replace it , but I've heard that these have poor materials , inaccurate movements and even rust problems? Is this true?

Worth buying for sub $100, 100%.

I've had good experiences with the vostoks I've owned (komandirskie and premier). They can look a little cheap and blingy depending on the model in question. The two I owned were both very fun to own and operate and felt solidly constructed. For the price I'd definitely recommend 👌

I have a #vostok Amphibia and a Komandirskie. My only problem was that they were both wildly inaccurate, but they are very easy to regulate. Very solid watches if you can get them for less than $100.

Have you looked at the #casio Duro?

I have owned a few Vostok watches over the years and have never had any problems with rust. They aren't the most accurate but if you know how to regulate one you can get an inexpensive, robust and reliable watch that will last years.

They actually have a unique and effective water resistant design. Also, easy to regulate.

They're like an AK-47. Simple, rugged, effective.

Love Vostok!

They are a part of collecting worth collecting. They have charm, like a a British sports car.

Not a diver, seen some water. And I love me some acrylic, hand cranking.

Guess I'm saying been pleased with mine.

The functions of the watch are performed somehow. terrible processing and execution. Recommended exclusively for fans of this kind, history buffs, and those who have nothing better to do to occupy themselves with extra attention to watches. Suitable for beginner modders too. normal people don't have to have shit like that.

I wouldn't recommend them. I had a dosen or so when I started collecting and they are just always disappointing. Brand new Vostok Amfibia, went swimming twice with it in the sea and the crown seized up because it started rusting....

Plastic crystal, cheap feel, no quick date setting, plated bidirectional bezel, poor lume, questionable water resistance, poor quality control... Everything about them is so outdated that only reason to get them is a as museum piece.

If you actually want to have a functional diving watch just get something else, there are many better options in that price range.

I'd recommend the #citizen Promaster Diver. They're around $200 and very solid. It's the one I've used the most for diving.

It's 44mm but wears smaller, they also make smaller versions. Here's a line up of divers for see comparison. The Amphibia is on the right.
