Big I :)

I have been a sucker for vintage inspired military style watches forever... 5 years after the launch of the Longines Big Eye, I have finally pulled the trigger. Last few days have been amazing... I knew I would love it but didn't expect to go head over heals... I sold a couple of watches to get the money for this one and it is worth every dime. Now, after a few days, I am trying to be cold headed and to understand why I love it so much... obviously the military highly legible esthetics which promote minimalism is a plus, vintage faux patina numerals on a black dial as well. It is a 3 sub dialed chrono but it looks decluttered... and given my fascination with no sub dial chrono it is unexpected that I would love this. Big eye sub dial is a fantastic eye catcher (in this case "I" catcher)… But there is something more... Or actually it is more about what is not there! No date window ! Bingo ! That is it!

No date window watches are going to be my thing for some time! What is your relationship with date windows? Do you love them, tolerate, or just don't want them?

Only one thing is a regret, they should have put a sapphire case back to showcase the movement and its blued column wheel

P.S. Added a pic of the original inspiration for the modern Big Eye...

Congrats on the new watch Milos! Beautiful piece! 👍

I was close to buying one, when I made my one big buy and decided I want it to be a Longines. However, the 40mm Spirit won me over. The Big Eye is some great value for the money. Excellent choice.

Nice lume shot

in reality it is greenish, but if there is backlight (like on this pic coming from another room) it turned into bluish... had to post that one :)

titanium looks great in pics. my experience with those up to now is that it feels to light... like not wearing a watch... I dont like that... I hope this one is better and not too light :) :) If so I might make a double buy :)
