[Cartier Custom Strap Service] - Please share your experience

I've been eyeing some custom straps for my Cartier Tank watch lately. They offer a myriad of colors and textures, however, the cost of CAD 200/250 (USD 145/185) per strap and CAD 100 (USD 75) per buckle seems a bit steep. I'm curious if the custom strap truly lives up to the quality of the original one that comes with the Cartier Tank.

Any insights or personal experiences on this?

Your input would be a huge help in making an informed decision.

Thanks a ton!

My Cartier straps are fitted to folding clasps that arrived with the watch so they wear a long time. My retired Cartier sa was fond of replacing his straps from what I observed they were at least the quality if not superior to straps that were fitted from the factory. Do you need to replace the buckles? I have not checked but buckles can be moved from old to new.

I haven’t Experienced straps to that caliber yet so I can’t weigh in fully. I would hope the quality is worth the amount of money they have valued the product. But it was very smart of you to research the information before investigating you money into it. I hope with experience with it jumps in the comemts. Good luck ✌️😉

I often look at the Molequin Insta & the number of times their straps add further beauty to the Cartier watches they post pics of is incredible. I have bought a number of their straps & although I'd expect Cartier's to be of a higher quality, they certainly are great value for money. I love this strap of theirs on my Santos 100;

Customs tossed the alligator strap for my Tank Americaine when the watch was imported, so I had to get a new one. I was shocked at the sticker price, but honestly it feels weird owning a watch and not its OEM strap, so I bought it anyway. The quality is great and I have no complaints, although I bet you could get a similar quality strap for cheaper.
