Micro Appreciation: Size Doesn’t Matter

Hello Crunchers! I never got around to posting NWA’s for either of these, and with the Micro Tournament going on, I thought I’d take a moment to share my appreciation for these two pieces.

I preordered the Serica 6190 and Lorca Model 1 and both happened to deliver around the same time so in the past few weeks I’ve been faced with the happy dilemma of deciding which to wear daily and bond with.

Some thoughts on my experience with both:

  • The quality and finishing on both watches is superb and feels in line with watches at the $4000+ price point—small details like dial text font or alternating polished/brushed finishing go a long way in elevating these pieces to a higher level than their price might suggest

  • From a design standpoint, both watches offer something fresh and original—there are clear inspirations to various design choices, but the resulting products feel uniquely their own

  • Wearability of both is excellent for me (I have 6.5” wrists)

  • I think most images of the 6190 online (IG and Serica’s site) must be on a wrist measuring at least 7” (I was initially thrown by this and wished it wore a little smaller on my own wrist, but have come to terms with the dimensions)

  • Both bracelets are super comfortable. The 6190’s Bonklip is very convenient for adjusting size throughout the day

Overall, I’m loving both pieces and I appreciate both brands’s point of view and positioning in the watch market!

What has your experience been with micro/independent brands and how do their pieces work into your collections?

Thanks and happy crunching!
