Scratches on brushed metal case : fixed !

This is a follow-up of this post.

I ordered the Bergeon 2834C pen and tried to remove the scratches.

The result is beyond my expectations. As you can see on the pictures (before/after), I managed to remove most of the scratch.

Only the deepest one remains visible, if you know where it is and how to look at it. And this is because I did not want or need to insist, it's probably possible to go further but what's the point if it's invisible with naked eyes?

The most important has been achieved indeed: even myself cannot see anything from the distance, it looks like new. I made a test with people around me, no one has been able to find the scratches again (when they did before).

I thought I was doomed but in fact it was not difficult at all. I followed the instructions uploaded besides the photos.

You just have to follow it, be patient with subtle and multiple passes, always in the same direction as the initial brushed effect.

I hope it will help someone!

Thanks for sharing! I've got some minor scratches on a clasp. Seen a few videos on how to polish an use a scotch brite pad, but never built th courage to do it myself. This seems easy enough.

I have never tried on a clasp, but it should be easier and less scary than on the case itself.

It should work well ! I think you are going to have more control with this pen than with the scotch brite, and it looks more abrasive (= more efficient). I made some tests with a scotch brite on another, old case and it did nothing.

Thx! This is timely, my wife picked up my Seamaster Professional the other day noticed a number of surface scratches on the brushed steel bracelet suggested I take it to the Swatch repair centre. It is one of her favourite watches on me, even offered to pay, going to try the pen first.

Good! Take your time and use a magnifier.

In case you are not satisfied or it does not work as intended, as long as it has not been butchered, visiting a professional is the next step indeed.

Good luck!

Thx appreciate the post about the pen! Years ago I had my dad’s Rolex OP serviced by Rolex Canada, the front desk clerk said refinishing on the old oyster style bracelets which were brushed was with a hand held device. You could tell but it was a decent job. ❤️

Knew of no such tool. Will have to pick one up. That's fantastic!
