Buying watches

at the beginning when I started to have an interest in watches I said to myself that I was going to buy myself a watch and then it will be my only watch and suddenly a month later I bought myself another one and I I also told myself that it would be my only two watches in life and now today the desire to buy another watch goes through my head and I don't know if it's because the two watches I have it's two watches from small brands and that I want a fairly well-known watch in the universal geneve, zenith or tissot style, whatever or if it's because I've become a little addicted.

Very good and sage advice. Too close to home about the addiction for me. My much worse advice is to get a large capacity watch box then you can tell yourself you'll stop when you fill it (and then buy another watch box).

I gave myself a realistic limit. Two boxes (because that's all that will fit on the dresser)!

I reached out to my lawyer for a 15minute chat this morning ahead of arranging a longer meeting at his office next week. We always squander a few moments talking about watches, never forgot our first social meeting more than 25 years ago when he was wearing a new Rolex Pepsi that his dad negotiated a fair purchase price on his behalf. He has picked up a few extra watches over the years but still wears that first serious timepiece. Some guys are smart and disciplined.

I have the same habit. For me I realised that we ALL are actually addicted to the hunt!

How many watches do you have now?

Not crazy amount. Roughly about 20-21 pieces. 🥴
