I know the homage watches are frowned upon, but when working in my workshop all day I cant have something on that will sadden me if it gets beat up a little.

Nice. What knife is that? No need to apologize for a homage. I'm wearing a Steinhart today. Wear what works best for you.
I see you're in Cleveland. I lived there for 10 years. Cool city (except for the snow).

Yeah winters here can be brutal! The knife is a Civivi Qubit, great knife. Just released a couple weeks ago. Definitely give it a look!

Oh thanks, I have heard of the Qubit. I'll have to look into it more. I am a We/Civivi fan. I'm carrying a We Mote today.

That's a great knife too. Really love the Civivi brand. Great affordable knives that are really well made.
Homages more than welcome here. My Squale “Sub” is one of favs. Usually carry a benchmade or leatherman when not in the office myself.

That's good to know. This was my first post and wondered if I would get some flack for it. I love the watch, it's one a wear a lot.
Nothing wrong with an homage. Any watch enthusiast can spot an original from an homage a mile off. They aren’t designed to be an exact copy, like a fake watch. It isn’t pretending to be something it isn’t. It just takes its design cues and languages from established designs based around a users needs.
Especially with tool watches. No one complains a Dewalt or Bosch hammer drill look very similar. 😂
