Gen 1 Monster
I just so happened to wear this old thing today for the first time in months, and Cole Pennington drops a new video on Hodinkee about Monsters. Could this be the next hype watch..... probably not but I like it. Anyone else have a monster lurking in their watch box.

I have thought about selling mine since it doesn't get worn, then I'll wear it and fall back in love.
I thought the Orange Monster already was a hype watch. At least the eBay prices would make me think so lol

One can find the first generation for a okay price (if double or triple what they were is okay) but the 2nd generation monsters are going for between $1000 and $2000 or more. I pretty much kick myself not buying the 2nd generation when one could get one for $300. Sadly I suspect the cost is going to keep climbing well ... not sadly if you own one already.

9 out of 10 pro divers agree the Monster is the best mechanical dive watch ever made.
Too funny, yes got the identical model to yourself. I ride bikes a lot and the weight and edges of the monster cause issues for me so doesn’t get much wear sadly. Will likely sell it to free up some room. Fun to see the classic orange monster back in the news!
I don't have one, but I do live in Thailand, the hope of the Monster :). I have seen some Thailand only limited editions at my local AD, but never really got into Seiko, so no interest in picking them up.
I love Grand Seiko though :)
The Monster they showed with the cartoon owl on it is something I'm going to keep my eyes out for.
