Seiko 5 Sports SRPK17 55th anniversary, a versatile and fun summer watch!
This Seiko re-issue is my favorite of the last several years and stays true to the vintage original. Tucked crown gives it a nice clean look and the 39.5 mm case wears more like a 40 or 41. I love the friction bezel and the recessed pip. The most discussed issue with this release is the stock bracelet and I have to agree it is not very articulating if you don't have a perfectly round wrist. It does, however, shine like a champ on different straps and bracelets. The tight lug area is a challenge for straps but I found one in my collection that fits it perfectly, the Marlon Band-O from CNS. It is a perfect recreation of the strap Mr. Brando wore on his 1972 Rolex GMT Master 1675 and really completes the vintage look for this Seiko. Let me know what your favorite pairing is!

Looks good on the bracelets but really comes into it's own as a "sports" watch when you throw it on a sporty strap. Curerntly have mine on a silicone strap with clasp and have a few silicone & leather alternatives on order with white accents to really tie in the dial & bezel.

I’m a beads of rice fan but I’d say that’s the weakest of the options posted but the pics do show that it pretty much rocks on most of them. My personal ranking on looks alone would be as follows:

Love it, tough and super-thin, it has a sheen like egg shell; not shiny, not matte. I think it completes the vintage look for any case. I got it for my SPB153 Willard but it now lives almost exclusively on my Seiko 5 Sports SRPK17. Just grab it - can't beat the price!
