New Seiko Diver GMT or Longines Hydro Conquest GMT

Anyone compare the new Seiko 1968 recarinated Diver GMT. Love the look in green . It would knock of three of my wants in a Diver, GMT and green face. The new Hydro Onquest GMT is also answering the call. One of these 2 will be next watch, just looking for opinions

I think the spec sheet favors the Longines but the Hydroconquest GMT is just such a crazy looking dial that I don't know that I would ever choose it over the very classically handsome Marine Master 200 dial

I mean triangles, bars and circles for indices (and those circles are pushed super far back towards the rehaut). A snowflake for an hour, a lollipop for a seconds and an arrow for a GMT hand. It's just too much of a riot of shapes.

a Seiko or a Swiss Longines? no question there

It all depends on whether you want a tool watch that looks good on your wrist or a piece of jewellery that looks good in photos. The 68mas case will always wear well. However, I am not a big fan of that unbeveled date window. Due to iso rules, most of Seiko's current lineup has an unbeveled date window. I really hate that!

Both are lovely watches. It doesnt really matter what other people think, as long as you like it!

I'd say go Swiss, but those indices would drive me mad, not to mention that carbuncle of a date 😱

The MM200 dial and design are just much more cohesive and beautiful. Also, the MM200 case finishing is also much better overall from what I observed from the Conquest in person. If you are particularly looking for the green then I would 100% go with Seiko or look at the Spirit Zulu time instead of this Hydroconquest. Really can't stand the dial mis mash in this Hydroconquest.

Both are the same thickness but the MM200 has better proportions and will be smaller like 40mm on the wrist plus 20mm lug width.

Probably the Seiko, but more for the dial than anything technical, as I actually preferred the hydro conquest when it had the Arabic numerals at 12, 6 & 9 over regular indices they’ve started using. Unless there’s a model of the Longines GMT that’s still using that particular dial layout?

Do you mean “ reincarnated “ ?

Longines IMHO.

If you're not bothered by the dial shapes, go for Longines.

I've been wearing mine for the last 4 days and it's incredible. The dimensions are great, it's very comfortable on the wrist, bracelet is superb, crown action is the sturdiest I've experienced, and the brushed finish is perfect. And despite not being COSC certified, mine has been -3s/day which is just within COSC range.
